On my Birthday, I went to watch Jefferson Performing Arts Society's stage version of the Disney's Broadway musical,
Beauty and the Beast.
It was a wonderful
performance.
It followed the movie
exactly, but with new songs thrown in.
My favorite part was seeing the enchanted characters become their parts (
ie. clock, candlestick, cup, teapot, duster, etc.)
The dinner scene ("Be our Guest") was AMAZING!
Gaston in this performance really stole the stage, but you do c
heer on the prince in the end. They also sell some red roses that glow in the dark, so at the finale, when the prince is dying, almost the whole theater had their roses glowing in the air.
I would highly recommend anyone who enjoys Broadway to check this out next time it's in your neck of the woods.
