On Monday February 23, 2009, co-founder of the Krewe of Orpheus, Harry Connick, Jr., will be returning home to celebrate Lundi Gras with his family, friends and Krewe mates.
Celebrities joining Connick include star of the ABC hit series According to Jim, Jim Belushi, homegrown talent and star of AMC's award-winning Mad Men, Bryan Batt, legendary comedienne and television icon Joan Rivers, country crooner Josh Gracin and the cast of Comedy Central's Reno 911.
Orpheus - Mandeville, 7 p.m.
The Original Krewe of Orpheus (not to be confused with the south shore krewe of the same name) was formed in 1987 and had their first parade in 1988. The krewe's special throw, the Pineloon, is a decorated pinecone attached to a doubloon. The krewe even has an official call and response cheer - "Hail Orpheus" "Hail, yeah"
