NOLA East Marsh Fire

The New Orleans Fire Department has decided to let the fire burn itself out because the area is too difficult to access and the fire will eventually be extinguished by the surrounding water.
The fire likely was started by lightning, and was in an area that is difficult for firefighters to reach, both because it is far from sources of water, and because of the threat of alligators and snakes.
