The Chris Owens (burlesque performer) Easter Parade rolled today. The celebration started at the Astor
Crowne Hotel Ballroom at 11:00 a.m. with a continental breakfast, Hat Contest and entertainment. The parade rolled at 1 p.m. through the French Quarter.
Is it just me or does the bunny look a bit scary?
Chris Owens is a local performer, club owner and entrepreneur who bases her act out of the French Quarter. She has been a French Quarter fixture and celebrity from the start of the 1960s through the early 21st century. Though perhaps not a name of world-wide recognition, Owens is extremely well known in Louisiana and throughout the U. S. South. Tourists visiting the famous Bourbon Street cannot miss huge posters of her wearing revealing costumes as they walk by her nightclub.

I think this fellow was making his way to the annual Easter gay parade which started at 3:00 p.m.
