Wake up to the best of the season's harvest every Saturday morning, when
the Crescent City Farmers Market takes up residence in New Orleans'
historic Warehouse District!
Come for the food, and
stick around for great entertainment by local musicians, cooking
demonstrations, or just to shoot the breeze with friends and the
farmers, chefs and fishers who put food on the city's tables.
The Saturday Market runs year-round from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the
corner of Magazine Street and Girod Street. If it rains, look for them
inside the big building adjacent to the parking lot.
I tried to Avocado Creme Popsicle, which was surprisingly good on a warm humid morning!
I was very tempted to get some purple basil and make some homemade pesto, but instead opted for cheddar cheese to go with yellow squash.
And, of course I couldn't leave without some fresh peaches (and homemade tamales -not pictured-)
