This will be the last year for Oktoberfest at the Deutsches Haus's original location.
After, 82 years, the Deutsches Haus at 200 South Galvez will be moving due to LSY / VA hospital projects.
This year the Deutches Haus promises this fest to be the biggest and best they have ever had. They have permission from the City of New Orleans to Close South Galvez Street . . . which means the festival can spill out into the street.
The Bier Garten wall on Galvez will be removed and the band stand will also be moved so festival attendees can see the band from the street.
Amie (who is due early December) hasn't been out lately, thus her husband Carson convinced her to go for Octoberfest and I joined them. 
I LOVED the cake stand, reminded me of a Shiner wedding.
I opted for the strawberry cake.
We had standing tables only, thus no room to sit . . . but it was a great night to be out.
