***Update***
So, what have I been up to lately?
I -think- I'm officially moved in. Always takes a while for me, since I like things to be in a certain place or arranged "just right". ME...Perfectionist, nah! Organizational Nazi, perhaps! But overall, I'm happy with how the whole apartment (or house as I really prefer to call it) has all turned out.
Works good, too. I've been at my new job for a little over 6 weeks. I'm still in that "beginning work" mode where you're kinda there doing things but still have LOTS to learn - so, ugh...I hate that! BUT Perks of the auction job: Getting random phone calls from Paris or Switzerland or you name it on a sorta daily basis, having film crew associates walk in saying they'd like to buy furniture for a major motion picture/tv series being filmed in New Orleans and having me as their contact person, getting to try on all the priceless (OK, yeah...there really is a price limit, but it's WAY over my budget) jewelry before it's auctioned off - did I mention I LOVE 1920s TIFFANY...yummy jewels and gold and diamonds - oh my!
I'm also training to be a docent on the weekends for two famous French Quarter House Museums, which I extremely enjoy. I forgot how much of a nerd I am when it comes to history! I have lots of random facts/years to put to memory, but OMG...the houses are amazing!!!

My family came to visit back in late June for a "later" Father's Day wknd. It was also the weekend that the Carrollton Street Cars started running again for the first time, three years after Katrina. It was a big local celebration and we got free rides. Can't beat that!

Meet up with the Ladies during Memorial Weekend and decided to check out the New Oasis since it just recently opened again after the first damage.
Nice view, but Texas weather on a sunny 3pm afternoon day is not nice.
The Margaritas sure helped though!
